Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to submit original and high-quality manuscripts to NUSA: Journal of New Understanding for Early Childhood Education. Manuscripts must be relevant to the journal’s focus and scope, written in clear academic English, and not previously published or under consideration by another journal.

Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format using a clear and consistent academic style. The recommended length is approximately 4,000–7,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

The manuscript should contain:

  1. Title – concise, informative, and relevant to the study.

  2. Author Information – full name, institutional affiliation, country, email address, and ORCID if available.

  3. Abstract – approximately 150–250 words, presenting the background, objective, methods, main findings, and conclusion.

  4. Keywords – 3–5 keywords that represent the main content of the article.

  5. Introduction – presents the research background, literature context, research gap, novelty, and objectives.

  6. Methods – clearly explains the research design, participants or data sources, instruments, procedures, ethical considerations where applicable, and data analysis.

  7. Results and Discussion – presents the findings clearly and discusses them in relation to relevant theories and previous studies.

  8. Conclusion – summarizes the main findings, implications, limitations where appropriate, and recommendations.

  9. Acknowledgments – optional; may include funding or institutional support.

  10. Author Contributions – describes the contribution of each author.

  11. Conflict of Interest – authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  12. References – only sources cited in the manuscript should be included.

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, provided with clear titles or captions, and referred to in the text. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material.

References and Citation Style

NUSA uses APA 7th Edition for citations and references. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

References should primarily consist of recent and relevant scholarly sources. Authors are encouraged to prioritize peer-reviewed journal articles and internationally accessible references with DOI links whenever available.

Research Ethics

Research involving human participants, particularly children, must comply with recognized ethical principles. Authors should state the ethical approval, informed consent, or institutional permission where applicable. The privacy and confidentiality of research participants must be protected.

Originality and Plagiarism

Submitted manuscripts must be original. All manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism-detection software. Authors must properly acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, and other forms of research misconduct.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

Authors must disclose any use of generative artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation where applicable. AI tools cannot be listed as authors because authorship requires accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and originality of the work.

All submissions will undergo an initial editorial assessment followed by a peer-review process. The final decision on publication is made by the Editor based on the quality, originality, relevance, and compliance of the manuscript with the journal’s policies.
